Miss Carina

Miss Carina began dancing at the tiny age of 3. “I thank the wonderful teachers who I had the pleasure of learning my skills and knowledge, they enriched my passion for dance and i aspire to be the teacher they were for me, to my own students”.


Through my teaching and experience I have learnt a variety of dance styles including, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Funk and Hip Hop. Dancing has allowed me to perform in many events over the years, including locally at Festivals, large productions such as Starstruck, Sydney Spectacular, cheerleading for for sporting clubs, opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games, promotional work and television. In 2010 featured dancer Oral B, 2013 choreographer and performer for ‘The Years’. Previously having the pleasure to teach at other studios learn and grow, I have a vision for my own studio and as each day passes I see the improvement and confidence grow in all the students.  I endeavour to nurture our students through to a career in the dance industry and build on their development by teaching best technique guided through syllabus work and continued self-development and training. The dance world never stops and I am forever attending workshops, seminars and gaining qualifications to provide our students the best dance training possible. More than just a dance school, Beats endevours to nurture our students for their chosen reason to take up dance whether it be for fun or to a career in the dance industry, building on their development and technique. Miss Emily


Qualified L.G.T.D.A Student Teacher, Former Knights Cheerleader, AASCF Accredited Level 1

Miss Emily has been dancing for many years. She has the qualifications and experience to pass down some amazing talent to our students. Miss Emily also assists Miss Carina in the management of the studio. In training for her teachers Miss Emily is loved by her students and produces entertaining routines. In 2013 Miss Emily was head Choreographer for Cheer at the 2013 Special Olympics – Hunter Stadium. Achievements include Newcastle NRL Knights Cheerleader and can be seen at many local events and charities for promotional work.

Miss Sarah


Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) 2017, Cert IV Arts Administration, Diploma of Dance, Cert IV in Dance

Miss Sarah grew up in Port Macquarie and started dancing at the age of 5. Training in RAD and BBO ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, aerial, contemporary, Lyrical, modern expressive, theatre dance, kicks turns and leaps. During this time Sarah has won many scholarships and accolades including a Full Time Scholarship to Lee Academy.

Over the last 7 years Sarah’s Choreography has placed in a variety of competitions regionally and nationally. She has had the privilege to be mentored by some of the best choreographers and teachers Australia has to offer such as Jo Cotterill, Alyssa Casey and Diane Banks.










Hip Hop All Boys Teacher

Nic has recently completed his Student Teaching Certificate with L.G.D.T.A Syllabus. After a successful audition Nic has been traveling to Sydney weekly and learning from the best in the Industry as a member of the Forge Tap Group. In addition to his many achievements Nic has performed in the US and Fiji on dance tours and in 2018 in the Tap ensemble group at Sydney Spectacular. We look forward to seeing where Nic takes his dance as he has so much to offer!







Miss Amanda

Singing and Vocal Training Teacher

Qualified L.G.T.D.A Dance Teacher and top 24 contestant Australian Idol

Dancing since the age of 4. Amanda started singing professionally aged 16, travelled to Greece after winning a dance scholarship in 1994. Cheerleading for Hunter Marinas Super league 1997, was our famous rock chick form Newcastle making the top 24 Australian Idol 2006. Miss Amanda has been the principal of A Class Studio and is qualified under LGTDA Syllabus with a passion for encouraging people especially students to excel. Miss Amanda was the creater of Powerful Performer Program combining her qualification in Kinesiology with her own performance experience, assisting students to find their own success and reduce anxiety.






Miss Donna

Tap Teacher

Qualified L.G.T.D.A teacher, Part owner of LGTDA Syllabus, Adjudicator & Examiner

Donna has been running her own studio for over 30 years. Donna herself was a student of Marlene Black, RAD classical and Les Griffith in addition singing and drama with Colin Chapman.

Donnas students are extremely successful in Eisteddfod work both in soloists, championships, scholarships and groups.  Most recently Donna’s student won both the Mattara Tap Championship and the Mattara Scholarship, taking home a large cash prize.

3 of Donnas students were successful performers in Tap Dogs, Steel City and Bootmen. Donna is also in partnership both in running and owning the Les Griffiths Tap Dancing Academy Syllabus. In addition Donna has also been Examining and Adjudicating for many years. We are very honoured    to have such a prestigious teacher and mentor at BDS.








Miss Maddi

Cert IV IN Dance, Intermediate R.A.D Ballet

Has been dancing since the age of 3.  Trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre & Hip-hop. Miss Madi has achieved Intermediate Level R.A.D IN 2014and  completed Cert IV in Dance at Brent St in 2015, majoring in Ballet & Contemporary.

Miss Madi has had the opportunity to take classes at The Edge and Millennium Los Angeles and Broadway Dance Centre, Alvin Ailey and Steps on Broadway NYC. She was a part of the Pulse Dance Convention in Las Vegas in 2015 and has taken classes with dancers/performers in Something Rotten and On the Town Broadway NYC. In addition Miss Madi had trained at Steps on Broadway NYC in 2014 where she undertook part in the summer school and dancer in the International Children’s Games in









Miss Issy

Currently Studying Cert IV IN Dance

Miss Issy has been dancing at BDS for over 10 years. She is an all round performer experienced in various styles with an interest in Hip Hop. Miss Issy recently traveled to America where she taught in a US Camp Dance Program, after returning home in 2018 ran monthly Hip Hop Classes at the Studio. In 2019 Miss Issy is undertaking a Diploma in Dance at Transit whilst providing fun and friendly dance classes at BDS.







Miss Chelsea


Cert II Dance Teaching

A primary and early childhood Teacher Miss Chelsea has a strong passion for dance and the wellbeing and development of children. Through current job rolls Chelsea  has established a growing desire to further her experience and involvement as a dance teacher. ‘I wish to enhance the growth of all children in my care by ensuring all children are provided with opportunities to excel as dancers and individuals’.



Miss Lilli

Cheer Coach

AASCF Accredited Level 1,2,3

Miss Lilli herself is a National Champion 3 years in a row and is our amazing competitive cheer coach. She has competed at Duel In The Desert Palm Springs California 2015 & Placing second at Global Cheer Games in Hawaii in 2017 competing against China, US, Japan and New Zealand. We welcome her experience and positive energy at the studio. Miss Lilli Birngs a world of experience to the studio and we look forward to her training our teams.
