Miss Carina – Principal

Qualified L.G.T.D.A Tap Teacher, Accredited Zumba Instructor, Member of Australian Teachers of Dancing

AASCF Accredited Level 1 & 2.

Miss Carina began dancing at the tiny age of 3. “I thank the wonderful teachers who I had the pleasure of learning my skills and knowledge, they enriched my passion for dance and i aspire to be the teacher they were for me, to my own students”.

Through my teaching and experience I have learnt a variety of dance styles including, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Funk and Hip Hop. Dancing has allowed me to perform in many events over the years, including locally at Festivals, large productions such as Starstruck, Sydney Spectacular, cheerleading for for sporting clubs, opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games, promotional work and television. In 2010 featured dancer Oral B, 2013 choreographer and performer for ‘The Years’. Previously having the pleasure to teach at other studios learn and grow, I have a vision for my own studio and as each day passes I see the improvement and confidence grow in all the students.  I endeavour to nurture our students through to a career in the dance industry and build on their development by teaching best technique guided through syllabus work and continued self-development and training. The dance world never stops and I am forever attending workshops, seminars and gaining qualifications to provide our students the best dance training possible. More than just a dance school, Beats endevours to nurture our students for their chosen reason to take up dance whether it be for fun or to a career in the dance industry, building on their development and technique. Mr Lewis – Studio Administrator

Lewis has been dancing since he was 4 years old, gaining diverse experience through various studios. He specializes in LGTDA tap syllabus and has performed in several festivals, even earning a featured ballroom duet. He joined Beats Dance Studio at 18 and has spent the last 12 years expanding his dance education. In 2023, he became the Studio Administrator and Teacher. He is well-known to the studio families and is excited to enhance the studio and nurture student abilities in a welcoming environment in 2024.

Miss Emily – Dance Teacher

With years of dance expertise, Miss Emily is a vital part of our studio, both as an accomplished instructor and teacher at BDS for over 15 years. Known for her engaging teaching style, she imparts exceptional skills to students, creating entertaining routines. Miss Emily’s impressive resume includes serving as the head Choreographer for Cheer at the 2013 Special Olympics at Hunter Stadium, as well as being a former NRL Knights Cheerleader. Her commitment to dance and community involvement makes Miss Emily a dynamic and beloved member of our dance family.

Miss Nikita – Dance Teacher

Nikita has been dancing since the age of 3. Trained in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Hip-hop and gymnastics. Miss Nikita achieved advanced tap in B.A.L 2016, elementary ballet B.A.L in 2015. Intermediate Level ballet R.A.D and has competed internationally for gymnastics. She had been dancing in Sydney Brent St, recently returning back to Newcastle we met Miss Nikita who danced in our Senior group last year. Miss Nikita creates wonderful relationships with students and looks forward to sharing her knowledge and creativity with BDS.

Miss Mikayla – Dance Teacher

Miss Mikayla began dancing at Beats 12 years ago. During this time she excelled in a range of styles. Mikayla has competed in Melbourne for cheerleading Nationals, achieved into golds for her LGTDA tap exams, competed in both group and solo competitions and performed in large productions like the dance ensemble for Grease. Mikayla has been part of our Dance Step Assistant Teachers Program at BDS. She is home grown talent so we know she has developed the skills and the knowledge to be an amazing teacher. During her time at BDS Mikayla has made some really strong connections with students and families over the years and we are so excited to support and offer her a role in our teaching faculty.

Miss Hayley – Dance Teacher

Hayley’s been dancing for many years, and she enjoys all the benefits dance has to offer. Hayley leads our team as the head instructor for Ready Set Dance, Acro, and Ballet. In addition she is extending her training and knowledge in the areas of Tap and advanced Lyra/Silks. Miss Hayley is currently studying a bachealor of teaching. You might’ve caught her on stage at our concerts as a wonderful performer, she’s got a wonderful bond with her students.

Miss Ebony – Dance Teacher

Miss Ebony is a highly qualified professional with a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Level 1 Cheer coaching credentials. Her journey in dance and cheer commenced at the tender age of 3, encompassing comprehensive training in diverse styles, including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Tumbling, and Cheerleading. With an impressive 16-year background in the field, she brings a wealth of experience to her work. Over the past few years, Miss Ebony has dedicated herself to inspiring and guiding numerous students on their own journeys

Miss Zahli – Dance Teacher

Zahli, a passionate dancer, teacher, and choreographer, holds a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. With over 15 years of experience as a competitive dancer and 6 years of teaching, she has mentored both large groups and soloists to victory in national dance competitions. Zahli has garnered numerous accolades, including international dance title nominations, an international choreography award nomination, and invitations to dance in Greece. Committed to continuous professional development, she ensures her students receive top-notch training through innovative techniques. Zahli is dedicated to providing personalized, optimized training that aligns with safe dance practices, sharing her wealth of knowledge with the next generation of talent.

Miss Emma – Dance Teacher

Dedicated to the transformative power of education and dance, my joy stems from observing students’ progression and development throughout the year. Focused on creating an environment that encourages self-expression, creativity, and enjoyment, Miss Emma aims to foster a space where students feel comfortable being themselves. Sharing interests and passions serves not only to build their self-confidence but also to cultivate enduring friendships and essential life skills. ‘Teaching, for me, is not just a profession but a privileged opportunity to positively contribute to their educational journey’.

Miss Lauren – Dance Teacher

Lauren boasts a background in dance, fueled by a profound passion and a keen eye for choreography. Currently in the process of completing exams to become a certified LGTDA Instructor, she brings a wealth of performance experience, having graced the stage at prominent events like Starstruck and School Spectacular. Beyond her impressive dance skills, Lauren shines in her ability to cultivate strong, positive relationships with her students.

Casey

Casey plays a crucial role in the seamless operation of our studio administration. She has had 3 daughters dance and grow up in the studio. With a strong background in administration and fundraising she has been assisting the Studio Administrator for several years. You’ll often find Casey at the reception desk, where she handles accounts and addresses general inquiries about our school. As our front-facing customer service representative, Casey ensures a welcoming and efficient experience for everyone.
